CANTON – Albert William Davis, 90, of Beans Corner, Jay, died Wednesday Feb. 9, at Victorian Villa Nursing Home in Canton.

He was born in Richmond, N.H., a son of Adelbert and Rose Davis, and received his education in New Hampshire schools.

He was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served during World War II and received two bronze stars.

He was a longtime employee of Melvin Manufacturing at Beans Corner, where he built snowmobiles and furnaces. He and his wife, Nellie (Platukys), spent many hours working around their Bean’s Corner home in their perennial flower gardens.

He is survived by his wife, Nellie Davis, of Beans Corner and Victorian Villa Nursing Home in Canton; a son, Bill Davis of Elkton, Tenn.; a brother, Leonard Davis of N.H.; three grandchildren, Tiffany Ann Davis of New Orleans, La., Michael Palesky of Tenn., and Tony Davis, a member of the Army Golden Knights, stationed at Ft. Bragg, N.C.; a great-granddaughter, Crystal Davis of New Orleans, La.; and special family friends, Tony and Irene Couture of Jay.

He was predeceased by a daughter, Theresa Davis; a brother, Louis Pasno; and a sister, Ethel Pasno.
