The Maine Turnpike Authority has rescheduled Transpass collection dates due to a major storm predicted for today and Friday.
Collections scheduled for today and Friday Feb. 11, will be rescheduled to Tuesday, Feb. 15, and Wednesday, Feb. 16. The collections had been scheduled in Biddeford, Westbrook, Gardiner, Augusta, Saco, West Falmouth, Freeport and Brunswick.
Former Transpass users are encouraged to drop off their devices at designated locations. They may also drop off the devices at the Maine Turnpike Customer Service Center at 400 Riverside St. in Portland, or mail them to the Maine Turnpike Authority, 430 Riverside St., Portland, ME 04103.
Collected Transpasses will be shipped to Greenpages Inc. in Connecticut, where they will be disassembled and recycled. Customers are encouraged to remove the batteries from their devices before returning them for recycling.
Monday’s schedule for local collections is:
• 7 to 9 a.m., Gray Service Plaza, northbound
• 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Litchfield Service Plaza, northbound
• 1 to 3:30 p.m., Lewiston Service Plaza, southbound
• 4 to 6 p.m., Gray Service Plaza, southbound
