Regular season champions have been crowned in the Western Maine Youth Basketball League (Grades 5-6) and playoffs will be held Sunday, Feb. 13.

In the Boys League, Auburn-Lewiston YMCA (9-0) captured the pennant in the South Division, and Mexico (9-1) was the North Division leader.

In the Girls League, Turner (9-0) is the regular season champ in the South Divison. AYS (9-1) of Jay-Livermore is the North Division champion.

In final regular season action last weekend for the boys, AYS defeated North Franklin 45-23 as Mike Castonguay netted 17 and Jacob Keene 6. Dylan Stinchfield paced Franklin with 9. James Savage and Dalton Gordon added 4 each. . . Lucas Witham tossed in 16 and Kyle Smith 15 as Turner beat Lewiston Rec 59-34. Spencer Emerson scored 10 for Lewiston. Jordan Handy added 9. . . Cameron Kaubris and Danny Garneau collected 13 each as Mexico knocked off Wilton 52-32. Nick Hilton led Wilton with 19. . . There was no report of Auburn Rec at Auburn-Lewiston YMCA.

In the Girls League, AYS defeated Dixfield 49-15 as Kathryn Ventrella scored 11. Erin Plourde and Megan Therrien added 10 apiece. Kassie Kaulback paced the Dixies with 10. . . Wilton turned back North Franklin 39-27 as Ashley Walker and Brittany Berkey popped 14 each. Dani Smith led Franklin with 13. Mikayla Luce added 8. . . Courtney Anderson registered 17 and Brianna Hammond added 6 as Turner beat Oxford Hills 40-20. Morgan Kesseli scored 5 for OH. Colleen Strauder and Laura Dow added 4 each. . . There was no report of Auburn Rec at A-L YMCA.

Pairings have been announced for the Boys League playoffs to be held Sunday at Tripp Middle School at Turner. Top 4 clubs are in the A Pool, and the bottom 4 in the B Pool. Admission for the day is $2 for adults and $1 for children. A concession stand will be available. Sunday’s schedule is as follows:

B Pool: 8:30 a.m., AYS vs Auburn Rec; 9:45, Lewiston Rec vs North Franklin; 11:15, Game 1 Loser vs Game 2 Loser (consolation); 12:45, Championship.

A Pool: 2:15 p.m., Mexico vs Turner; 3:30, Auburn-Lewiston YMCA vs Wilton Rec; 5:00, Game 1 Loser vs Game 2 Loser (consolation game); 6:30, Championship.

The Girls League playoffs are set for Sunday at Wilton Academy. There will be an A Pool and a B Pool. A schedule was not available.
