SOUTH PARIS – Donald L. Morey, 79, of Norway, died Thursday, Feb. 10, at the Maine Veterans’ Home.

He was born in Greenwood, on June 29, 1925, the son of Chester and Katherine Gregg Morey. He was educated at Greenwood schools.

He faithfully served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He married Marion Heath on June 18, 1950.

He had been a woodsman here in Maine. He worked construction in Simsbury, Conn., and after 28 years as a truck driver, he retired from Ron Cari Industries in East Granby, Conn.

He and his wife moved back to Maine in 1989.

He was a member of the Greenwood Historical Society, the American Legion in Locke Mills and he was a Teamster.

He is survived by his wife of Norway; three sons, Arthur of Tampa, Fla., Bruce of Virginia, and Reginald of South Paris; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a godson, Robert Ham of Auburn; two brothers, Ivan of Greenwood and Roland of Norway; three sisters, Katherine and Marie both of South Paris, and Joyce of Brooksville, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a brother, Lloyd; a sister, Barbara Patton; and a grandson, Jessie Morey.
