I am pleased to say that the Sun Journal is very important to me as a reader who is seeking fair and balanced news.

I am from the South, the Sunshine State, Florida. I have been in Maine for a few months.

I can see Mainers and New England are strongly leaning toward the Democrats.

With the 2004 election, we saw the Republicans take it all: the White House, the Senate (55 seats), the House and even the Supreme Court.

In this Republican victory, Mainers still keep to the left: a Democratic governor, two Democratic Congressmen and a Democratic Legislature.

If Mainers still want to keep that path by not allowing the Bush agenda to pass in New England, they have one more chance to prove it during the midterm elections in 2006.

With one Republican senator seeking re-election (Sen. Olympia Snowe), it’s time for Democrats in Maine to increase the total of Democrats in the U.S. Senate.

The best way to stop the Bush agenda is to stop his Republican senators from getting re-elected in 2006.
