LEWISTON – Colinette F. Beaudry Roussin, of Schooner Estates, passed away Thursday, Feb. 10, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center after a brief illness and only four months short of her 103rd birthday.

Mrs. Roussin, born in Auburn on June 25, 1902, was the daughter of Napoleon and Marie Richard Beaudry. She graduated from Edward Little High School and the Maine School of Commerce, and worked for Metropolitan Life Insurance Co.

After her marriage to Almo A. Roussin of Lewiston, on Nov. 10, 1924, they made their home in Boston, and later returned to Lewiston for Dr. Roussin to continue his practice of optometry. Upon his retirement, they spent many years in Winter Haven, Fla., during the winter months, and also enjoyed their summer home at Pine Point.

They were fortunate to visit Rome for their 50th wedding anniversary, where they stayed at the American Embassy at the invitation of Mrs. Roussin’s nephew and godson, Robert Beaudry, deputy Chief of Mission at the United States Embassy, who arranged an audience with Pope John Paul for them.

Mrs. Roussin was always an avid bridge player, even three weeks prior to her death. She was past president of St. Mary’s Patronesses, as well as an active member of the Kiwanians and well known for her charitable works.

She enjoyed a vast number of friends in the twin cities.

She is survived by one daughter, Constance Roussin Spann; one nephew, Robert Mann Beaudry; two nieces, Suzanne McCarthy Hinkley, and Margaret Shay Crisafi, and their families; as well as Dr. James Spann and two step-grandchildren, Elizabeth Spann Duggan, and William Spann, and their families. She is also survived by her very beloved sister, Mrs. Grace Bernatchez.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband of 63 years; a baby daughter, Gloria Roussin; three brothers, Placide, Altheode, and Louis Beaudry; and one sister, Charlotte Beaudry.
