BRIDGTON – Laura E. Walker, 68, of Lovell, died Friday, Feb. 11, at the Bridgton Hospital.

She was born Aug. 31, 1936, in Norway, the daughter of Abel and Edith Gurney Thurston. She graduated from Norway High School.

She lived in Lovell most of her life.

She enjoyed being a homemaker, and caring for her birds. She spent many hours transporting children for their after school activities, and cooked for all the local benefits.

She is survived by a son, Dwight Walker and his wife, Shelley, of Fryeburg; two daughters, Donna Wilson and her husband, Neil, of Bluffton, Ind., and Edith Day and her husband, James H. III, of Stow; two brothers, David Thurston of Bethel, and William Thurston of Stow; two sisters, Carole Rugg of Albany, and Kathleen Ela of Stow; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

She was predeceased by her husband, William Walker; a son, Irving Walker; and two brothers, Lawrence and Howard Thurston.
