JAY – The Jay PTO will sponsor a benefit spaghetti supper from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16, in the Jay Middle School cafeteria. Proceeds from the supper will be given to the American Red Cross for tsunami relief.
The supper is being held in conjunction with a Rick Charette performance at 6:30 p.m., also at the Middle School. The concert is sponsored by Jay Elementary School. There is no admission charge for the concert, but donations will be accepted and also given to tsunami relief.
Jay elementary students have created greeting cards that will be sold for $2 for a pack of four. There will also be items raffled during the evening. Anyone wishing to donate items may phone Jay Elementary School at 897-5719.
Class blues concert
FARMINGTON – Don Emery and Steve Levine will perform classic blues from the 1930s from 12:15 to 12:45 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16, in Nordica Auditorium at the University of Maine at Farmington. The concert will feature music by Mississippi John Hurt, Robert Johnson and Jeremy Wallace. Donations will be accepted at the door. All are welcome.
Democrats gather
FARMINGTON – The Franklin County Democratic Committee will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16, at the Student Center at the University of Maine at Farmington.
The agenda will include updates on the pancake breakfast scheduled for March 12 in Wilton, as well as a report from the Democratic National Committee meeting in Washington.

Breakfast forum
WILTON – Bill Crandall and Lauri Sibulkin of the Northern Franklin Opportunity Center in Avon will be the speakers at the February Wilton Community Breakfast Forum.
The forum will be held Wednesday, Feb. 16, at the First Congregational Church at 386 Main St. Doors open at 6:30 a.m. and a buffet breakfast with both hot and cold items will be available at 6:45.
The speakers will talk about how a group of residents has converted the once vacant Lauri Enterprises toy factory into an economic development center and an adult and career education center over the past year. The talk is from 7 to 7:30 a.m.
The public is invited to attend. Admission is free.

NEW SHARON – The Franklin County Firemen’s Association will hold its annual Feb. 16 supper meeting at the New Sharon Methodist Church vestry. FARMINGTON – Those interested in a career as a registered nurse and who would like to take courses in the Farmington area are invited to an open house at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16, in the Crosby Room at Franklin Memorial Hospital.
The open house will provide an opportunity to learn more about Central Maine Medical Center School of Nursing application process, admission requirements, curriculum requirements and more.
CMMC School of Nursing offers its two-year, associate degree registered nurse program via live video conferencing to a classroom at Franklin Memorial Hospital.
The hospital and Sandy River Health Care Facility are utilized for clinical experiences.

Lincoln Day dinner
STRONG – The Lincoln Day dinner for the Franklin County GOP will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 19, at the Forster Memorial Building.
The College Republicans will host a silent auction, so those attending are asked to bring items to be auctioned.
