WILTON – Selectmen will discuss updated operational policies for the Wilton Police Department when they meet Tuesday. The meeting begins at 7 p.m. at the town office. Newly hired Police Chief Wayne Gallant will discuss the new policies with officials. Gallant began his new duties Feb. 7.
Town Manager Peter Nielsen will also discuss with officials a letter from District Attorney Norman Croteau dated Feb. 9. The district attorney’s office has been investigating the Police Department. Nielsen is also expected to announce that Water Department Clerk Kyle Ellis will be leaving his post, effective March 1.
In other business, officials will meet with representatives from SAD 9 to discuss preparations for the 2005-06 school budget and hear a quarterly report from Recreation Director Frank Donald.
Selectmen will also consider a recommendation from the code enforcement officer interview committee to appoint a new code enforcement officer. Former Code Enforcement Officer Katharine Shoaps resigned after a few months on the job due to a family emergency. Selectman and Planning Board Chairman Keith Swett took on some of her duties.
Officials will recruit one or two board members to assist with labor union negotiations. They will meet behind closed doors to discuss labor contract negotiations.
