DAMARISCOTTA – Frances L. Robinson, 81, of Union St., Bath, died Sunday, Feb. 13, at Cove’s Edge Nursing Facility in Damariscotta following a long illness. She was cared for by dedicated, professional, and loving health care providers. She passed peacefully, by her side were her sons, Joe and Fred, nephew, Greg Bailey, granddaughter, Heather Dube, and extended family, Nancy and Jim Medeiros.
She was born in Belfast, on Nov. 27, 1923, the daughter of Donald W. and Florence M. Holmes Hogan. She attended Morse High School.
She worked as an administrative secretary for Bath Iron Works for 16 years, retiring in 1986. In her spare time, she loved knitting, crocheting, crossword puzzles, and spending time with family and friends at her summer home in Damariscotta. Following her retirement, she remained very busy volunteering for Bath Memorial Hospital, Bath Soup Kitchen, and the Bath Food Bank. She was a member of the Grace Episcopal Church in Bath, and past president of the Bath Emblem Club.
She is survived by two sons, J. Frederick Johnson of Lewiston, and Joseph D. and his wife, Dyan Robinson, of Damariscotta; five grandchildren, Wendy Bennett of New Hampshire, Gary Johnson of Lewiston, Charles Johnson of Auburn, Heather Dube of Woolwich, and Jody Robinson of Damariscotta; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph L. Robinson in 1994; two sisters, Shirley Melville and Audrey Bailey; and a brother-in-law, John Bailey.
