This winter has been a very interesting one. Where is the cold weather, the snowmen and snow forts in everyone’s front yard, the snowball fights and sledding? But most of all, where is the snow?

For the first few weeks of winter there was barely any snow on the ground. It would snow off and on, but never did my town of Mechanic Falls ever get a snow day. Even on Christmas there was grass showing. And now, being January, snow is finally falling and hopefully the grass will not peek up through any time soon.

There are some good points to not having a lot of snow. Parents (or kids) don’t have to shovel the driveway, and, well that’s about all. This winter the weather has really been nothing but dark, gray, and depressing. Let’s hope that this February second the groundhog doesn’t see his shadow. Then we’ll know where winter is, and hopefully that will be GONE!
