LEWISTON – The National Association of Retired Federal Employees will meet at noon Tuesday, Feb. 22, at the Ramada Inn. Mike Auger of the Androscoggin Land Trust will be the speaker and show slides.

Auger will discuss what land trusts do in general and what the local land trust’s work in Androscoggin County entails.

The trust is a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting, through land conservation and stewardship, the traditional landscapes, important natural areas and outdoor experiences in the county.

Auger has been on the board of directors since 2000. He is self-employed as an ecological consultant and has worked for the Nature Conservancy, the Maine Department of Conservation, Maine Army National Guard, local land trusts and private individuals. He lives in Turner and is an avid field botanist.

Plans for the meeting were made at a recent session of the board members. Attending were President Sue Stetson, Mike and Flo Bohunicky, Jayne Bickford, Doris Hamel and Therese Baumer.

Lunch will be served at noon, then Stetson will conduct a business meeting.
