WEST PARIS – Ruth Harriet (Davis) Hersey, 87, of New Gloucester, died Wednesday Feb. 16, at Ledgeview Living Center, in West Paris.

She was born in Tuftonboro, N.H., on Feb. 7, 1918, the daughter of Harry and Sarah (Gilman) Davis.

She married Robert S. Hersey, Nov. 19, 1933, in Tuftonboro, N.H. He died Oct. 22, 1978.

She was always a homemaker, and very active in the New Gloucester Bible Church.

She is survived by her son, John and wife, Shelia Hersey, of North Norway; daughters, Marylou Shattuck and husband, Allen, of Auburn, and Bonnie Hersey of Mechanic Falls; one granddaughter, Kimberly Hersey of North Norway; one sister, Eleanor Knights of Exeter, N.H.; several nieces and nephews; and grandnieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband; two sisters, Beatrice Davis and Mildred Dore; and two brothers, Albert Davis and Arthur Davis.
