LEWISTON – After finishing second each of their first two years at the A’ level of the New England Football League, the Central Maine Shockers are on their way to a promotion.

Pending a vote of the NEFL’s Board of Directors next month, the Lewiston-based semi-pro franchise will move up to AA.’

The Shockers were 8-0 last season before losing to the Hampton Hurricanes in the league championship. They still took home several league awards, including Organization of the Year, Coaching Staff of the Year, and Offensive Player of the Year (Marvin Langley).

The Shockers have scheduled a team meeting for existing and potential new players for 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 24. The meeting will be held in the Chiante Room at Davinci’s, on Canal Street in Lewiston.
