PORTLAND – Donald F. Worthley, 76, of Roxbury, died Friday, Feb. 18, at the Maine Medical Center, Portland. A lifelong resident of the area, he resided on the Roxbury Road, Roxbury.

He was born in Rumford, on Dec. 19, 1928, the son of Bryan and Reina (Fisher) Worthley, and graduated from Mexico High School Class of 1947.

He also served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II.

For many years he worked as a machinist at Boise Cascade Paper Company in Rumford until retirement.

He was a Communicant of St. Athanasius – St. John Church; Member Napoleon Ouellette Post 24, American Legion; Life Member Robert Shand Post 1641, V.F.W. and the Rumford Falls Aerie 1248, F.O.E.; and a member LeParesseux Snowshoe Club. He enjoyed the outdoors and especially loved his family.

He was married in Mexico to the late Marilyn M. Record who died May 10, 1996.

Survivors include four daughters, Donna Chaisson and husband, Randall, of Rumford, Linda Collins of Mexico, Gail Cormier and husband, Richard, of Jay, Sandra Hurley and husband, Joseph, of St. Francisville, La.; son, Bryan Worthley of Roxbury; two brothers, Eugene Worthley of Oquossoc and Robert Worthley and wife, Diane, of Roxbury; 14 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
