LEEDS – Loretta Theriault will be installed as the new postmaster of Leeds at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 23, at the Leeds Community Church, 123 Church Hill Road. The oath of office will be administered by Rene Albert, manager, post office operations, U.S. Postal Service, District of Maine.

The new postmaster began her career more than 13 years ago as a casual clerk in Lewiston. Since that time, she has also served as a transitional employee in Lewiston and Portland.

Her detail assignments have included officer-in-charge at the Norway Post Office, supervisor at the Yarmouth Post Office, supervisor of customer service in Lewiston and resource management at the Portland Post Office.

Theriault, as postmaster, is responsible for five other employees, handling the mail for 88 post office boxholders and 770 rural route deliveries.

The new postmaster said her personal goal for the Leeds office is to help the community grow, increase awareness of postal products and provide quality service to all Leeds customers
