LEWISTON – Therese Y. “Terri” Spaulding, 77, of Lewiston, passed away peacefully Thursday, Feb. 17, surrounded by her loving family and friends.
For the past five months, she had been cared for at home by her eldest daughter, Sandy, at her side attending to her every need with such devotion, love and dedicated professionalism that could not have been received anywhere else. And for that, we are all extremely grateful.
She was born in Auburn on Feb. 2, 1928, the daughter of Wilfred J. and Alexandra Pelletier Boilard.
She married Arthur R. Spaulding Jr. on Oct. 17, 1947, at St. Louis Church, Auburn.
She was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Church. She believed in the power of prayer. Her spirituality and her deep sense of faith sustained her through many difficult journeys throughout her life, which she accepted without complaint.
She had a “zest for life,” a real “vivre de joie,” living and enjoying every moment to its fullest right to the very end. Terri would light up the room like a bright ray of sunshine. She loved people. All people. Terri would volunteer her time at the SEARCH program and also at Russell Park Manor, where she would spend many hours with those who were shut in.
She loved to dance, listen to music, and travel with her best friend and companion, Bob Labbe.
She loved to spend time with family and friends. Nothing gave her greater “pride and joy” than to be with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were affectionately known as “my darlin’s.” Michael Scott has always had a “special place” in his memere’s heart!
She is survived by one sister, Jeannine Caron, of Lewiston; three daughters, Sandra Dube of Lewiston, Kimberly Ogden and her husband, Kevin, of Poland, and Jane Cote and her husband, George, of Lewiston; 10 grandchildren, Michael Scott and Jonathan Ogden, Danielle and Kayla Ogden, Kathleen Mathieu and her husband, Kevin, of Auburn, Becky Eaton and her husband, Aaron, of New Hampshire, Amy and Sarah Dube of Lewiston, Christopher St. Pierre and his wife, Annette, of Lewiston, and Jennifer Whittaker of Virginia; six great-grandchildren, Ryan and Kyle St. Pierre, Austin Snow, Dayton and Sierra Eaton, and Jonathan Whittaker; her sister-in-law, Hope Spaulding, of Lewiston; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband; and a daughter, Kathy Ann.
Many thanks to her special friend, Karen Reinhart.
