GREENE – Joyce Sanderson Carver, 84, of Line Road in Greene, passed away Sunday, Feb. 20.
She was born on Oct. 19, 1920, in Greene, daughter of Ernest B. and Jennie R. Sanderson. Joyce grew up in Greene and graduated from Edward Little High School in 1938.
She worked in local shoe factories, retiring in 1983 from Knapp Shoe where she had been employed for many years.
She was a member of the Greene Baptist Church.
She was the happiest when she was helping someone else. She was a very generous person. Joyce loved all animals, especially her kitties and dog. She made sure that no birds or squirrels were ever without food. Her yard was always alive with happy and contented little animals of the wild.
On May 22, 1971, she married Wilfred (Red) Carver. They moved to Greene to make their home on family land her parents had dreamed of someday building on. At the age of 5, Joyce lost her mother and the dream could not be realized.
She is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, Wilfred (Red) Carver; her son, Douglas Tremblay and wife, Patricia, of Las Vegas, Nev.; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
