LEWISTON – Gaetan A. Champagne, 73, of 91 West Dartmouth St., Auburn, went to be with the Lord on Monday, Feb. 21, at Ste. Marguerite d’Youville Pavilion.

He was born in Coaticook, Quebec, Canada, Nov. 20, 1931, the son of Eugene and Yvonne Arsenault Champagne. He was married Sept. 4, 1954, to Lorraine R. Bolduc, who predeceased him Feb. 1, 1998.

He was employed as a route salesman for Wise Potato Chip Co., and later worked for five years at Tambrands, prior to his retirement. He was a member of the Auburn Catholic community at St. Philip’s Church, and was a very family oriented person who loved to be around people. He enjoyed playing cribbage and cards.

He is survived by five sisters, Mrs. James (Cecile) Delong of Auburn, Rita Mathieu of Oregon, Mrs. William (Georgette) True of Denmark, Mrs. Richard (Lise) Conway of Lewiston and Mrs. Dean (Jacqueline) Conway of Auburn; a brother, Orean Champagne, and his wife, Claudette, of Lewiston; and he will also be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews, and Tiffany Kilton.
