SABATTUS – Jacqueline P. Ouellette of Sabattus, peacefully went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Feb. 18, while surrounded by her family, after her courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Lewiston, Sept. 9, 1939, she was the daughter of Alcide Leo and Imelda (Lemay) Ouellette. She attended Holy Family Catholic School as a child, and was a graduate of Lewiston High School. She had also earned many college credits.

She married Donald Eugene Ecker of Hollidaysburg, Pa., in 1957, and he died on Oct. 29, 1965. She will be remembered best by her love for the Lord, children, grandchildren, church family, and friends. She had a passion for reading and studying the word of God, while faithfully attending at Auburn Baptist Church.

She was active in the ladies prayer ministry, greeting ministry, and enjoyed singing in the church choir. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting many different things for her loved ones. She always enjoyed spending time with her family and her two furry “children,” Precious and Angel, her two cats. She was and will always be an inspiration to many for her faith in God, hard work, and dedication to her family. Always putting her children before her, she will be remembered for doing what she did best, being a Mom.

She is survived by four sons, Steven and his wife, Lisa, and their children, Kyle and Jennifer of Stowe, Vt., Tom and his wife, Elaine, and their daughter, Kern-Ann of Greene, Bob and his wife, Ginny, and their children, Benjamin and Michael of Greene, and John and his wife, Francine, and their children, Jahnalene, Daniel and Nathan of Lewiston; one daughter, Lisa and her husband, Frank “Butch” Dow, and their children, Tanya and Kaylanna of Sabattus; three brothers, Laureat and his wife, Yvette, of Lewiston, Armand and his wife, Dot, of Lewiston, and Fern and his wife, Linda, of Auburn; one sister, Irene Fontaine Gehm of Venice, Fla.; many nieces and nephews; and a former late husband, Raymond Ouellette, of Naples and his children, Robert Ouellette of Lewiston, Joanne Steevers of Bowdoin, and Cynthia Aube of Auburn.

She was predeceased by her father and mother; an infant daughter, Debra; and infant son, Danny.
