LEWISTON – Jean Paul “Tilou” Poulin, 84, of 401 Bartlett St., Lewiston, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 22, at Central Maine Medical Center.

Born in LacFrontiere, Canada, on March 18, 1920, he was the son of Auguste and Georgiana Veilleux Poulin. He was educated in local schools, and served in the United States Army during World War II. He was honorably discharged in 1943, and in 1944 he opened Poulin’s Bicycle Shop on Bartlett Street in Lewiston. He ran the shop until selling it in 1960, and then worked in real estate before retiring in 1980.

On July 4, 1944, he was married to the former Cecile R. Frechette, his loving wife of these past 60 years. A member of Saints Peter and Paul Parish, he was also active in the American Legion and the D.A.V., and was very proud of earning his GED at 80.

Survivors include his wife of Lewiston; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by six brothers, Raymond, Paul Emile, Arthur, Charles, Gerard, and Roland; and two sisters, Alice Poulin, and Laurence Girard.
