LEWISTON – Dorothy L. Landry, 70, a resident of Marcello Street in Jay, died Tuesday evening at St. Mary’s Hospital following a lengthy illness.

She was born in Jay, March 4, 1934, the daughter of Andrea and Alma Fournier Jolicoeur. She was a 1952 graduate of Jay High School.

On June 27, 1953, she married Arthur Landry at St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose passion in life was spending time with her family and friends, and always being there for them when needed.

She had worked as a cashier at Shop N Save in Jay, retiring in 1993. She was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay, and a member of the VFW, Frank L. Mitchell, Post 3335 Auxiliary of Jay. In her spare time, she enjoyed bowling and was a member of the VFW bowling team. She also enjoyed traveling, doing crossword puzzles, playing cards, and spending summer afternoons by the pool with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Arthur of Jay; two daughters and their husbands, Kathy and Ron Leclerc of Jay, and Cindy and Yoland Gauvin of Jay; a son and his wife, James and Ginette Landry of Livermore Falls; a brother and his wife, Gerard and Kathy Jolicoeur of Jay; a sister, Annette Ouellette of Rumford; six grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a son, Gary Landry in 1955.
