PORTLAND (AP) – The world’s largest movie theater company has announced plans to build the state’s largest megaplex at the Maine Mall.

The plan by Regal Entertainment Group for a 16-screen movie house includes a multi-level parking deck that would be built by the mall to accommodate thousands of moviegoers and shoppers.

Regal said its new megaplex would feature stadium seating, which ensures an unobstructed view of the screen, and retractable cup holders that moviegoers can push out of the way to form love seats.
