WEST PARIS – Wilma B. Gorman, 81, of Bethel died early Wednesday morning, Feb. 23, at the Ledgeview Living Center.

She was born in Bethel, April 18, 1923, the daughter of Wilbur and Gladys Freeman Bean. She graduated from Gould Academy, and in her younger years worked at the Bear River Cabins Tea Room.

She married Gardner Gorman on Jan. 12, 1946, and he died Feb. 15, 1992. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Bethel, and was active in the weekly Bible study group. She was also a member of the Senior Citizens, the Round Mountain Grange, and the Bethel Historical Society. She collected coffee mugs, and had a china cabinet full of them. She also enjoyed going for coffee with her friends, her weekly sewing circle with family and friends, and walking with her friend Doris. She loved her family and the time they spent at their camp in Albany.

She is survived by a daughter, Jane Gorman of Bethel; two sons, Willard of Berlin, N.H., and James of San Diego, Calif.; a sister, Norma Buck of Oxford; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a sister, Elizabeth Scribner; and two brothers, John and Willard Bean.
