GARDINER – “Alive! from Johnson Hall” will present its ninth season of concerts featuring Maine musicians during March and April. The concerts will begin at 7:30 p.m. Friday evenings.

The series is hosted by Martin Swinger at the historic Johnson Hall Performing Arts Center, 280 Water St.

The Alive! series begins March 4, with Pat Pepin on saxophone and vocals and a popular local rock band, The Boneheads, playing upbeat, rockin’ blues.

The March 11 concert will feature the Dave Rowe Trio and its high-energy Celtic and Canadian Maritime folk music.

On March 18, Mark “Guitar” Miller and his band will play soulful, emotional blues and March 25 will spotlight the Edith Jones Project, an all-women big band.

The April programs are: April 1, the Erica Brown Bluegrass Connection with fiddle-driven bluegrass; April 8, the Pineland Fiddlers, young musicians playing Acadian tunes; April 15, Truckstop Jukebox, an award-winning country duo of Everard Dodge and Roseanna Rogers; and the finale on April 22, the nationally known, acoustic rock group Devonsquare.
