GRAY – A woman found dead behind her home on Rustic Road on Friday morning may have spent the night outside, Maine State Police investigators said later in the day.

Police were investigating the death of 41-year-old Jeanne D’Angelo, who was found by her husband about 10 a.m.

“Detectives have not ruled the death suspicious,” Maine Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland stated in a news release, “but say they need the medical examiner’s input in order to determine why the woman died.”

D’Angelo lived at the home at 36 Rustic Road with her husband and 8-year-old daughter. Philip D’Angelo, 48, found his wife in a wooded area roughly 400 feet behind the home, police said.

State police were called to the home and spent several hours there Friday afternoon. Investigators were hoping to learn the cause of death after an autopsy scheduled for today.
