AUBURN – The Women’s Business Center at Coastal Enterprises Inc. and Maine Small Business Development Center announce an Internet & E-Commerce workshop for small business owners. The seminar will be from 9 a.m. to noon March 24 at the Androscoggin Valley Council of Governments office at 17 Manley Drive, Auburn.

Introduction to E-Commerce is a discussion of the Internet and E-Commerce. Participants will learn what is involved in selling products and services on the Web.

In addition, the sessions will cover different types of Web sites, what developing a site entails, and ways to assess whether or not a Web site is appropriate for a business.

Explore further issues pertaining to the development of a Web site with a session that covers software and Web site development tools; discuss how to develop content as well as structure; and help participants understand how to work with a Web designer, if needed.

Those interested in this session should attend the earlier workshop, Introduction to E-Commerce, or have an understanding of those issues.

It is a prerequisite to Creating Your Website workshop, which is set from 1 to 4 p.m. March 24 at the same location.

Marita Fairfield, business counselor for the Women’s Business Center at CEI, will be presenting the workshop.

There is a $10 charge; however, registration is required. To register for this workshop or to get more information, contact Tyrell A. Russell at 882-4340 or toll free (877) 340-2649 or e-mail [email protected] or register on-line www.ceimaine.org.
