WESTBROOK – Gwen C. Michaud, 62, passed away on Feb. 26, with her loving family by her side after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born in Waterville, on Nov. 7, 1942, a daughter of the late Joseph and Marion (Ayer) Cosgrove. Gwen attended and graduated from Winslow schools.

She owned and operated her own business in Perkins Cove in Ogunquit where she had her gift shop for 15 years. She recently worked as practice manager for New England Woman’s Center. She was extremely active as president and member of the Maine Children’s Home for Little Wanderers Friends Group for many years.

She loved music and dancing, being with people and entertaining. She enjoyed traveling and being near the water. Gwen’s greatest joys in life were being with her family, spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren. She was an extremely loving and compassionate woman who was always willing to give to others. Gwen was a very devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her loving husband, Ken Michaud, of Cape Elizabeth, whom she married on Aug. 20, 1960. Together they spent 44 wonderful years of marriage. She is also survived by three children; daughter, Debra Barry and her husband, Michael, and grandchildren, David and Morgan of Londonderry, N.H.; her son, Kevin Michaud and his wife, Robin, and grandchildren, Jacob and Kelsey of Gray; daughter, Wendy Levesque and her husband, Robert, and grandchildren, Kevin and Jessica of Turner; a brother, Joe Cosgrove Jr. of Waterville; and two sisters, Polly Boudreau, of Apopka, Fla., and Betty Lemieux and her husband, Jerry, of Winslow; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
