NORWAY – Daniel J. White Sr., 74, died Tuesday March 1, at Stephen’s Memorial Hospital in Norway. He was a resident of Roxbury Pond.

He was born in Chelsea, Mass. on March 23, 1930, a son of Rocco and Lucy (Ricci) White. He attended Shurtleff Grade School in Chelsea, Mass., and received his high diploma in Mexico.

He served in the United States Army as a Specialist Four from 1953 to 1955. He worked for Boise Cascade Paper Co. in Rumford for over 33 years until his retirement Aug. 28, 1992, from the Maintenance Dept.

He was a member of Napoleon Ouellette Post 24, American Legion, Le Paresseux Snowshoe Club and the Boise Cascade 25 Year Club. He was married in Gardner, Mass. in 1958 to the late Patricia O’Shea who died in Farmington, on Feb. 14, 2003.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Patricia Barnes of Hampton, N.H., Mrs. Deborah McKenna and her husband, Mark, of North Jay, and Miss Luci White of Mexico; four sons, Daniel White Jr., of Ohio, James and John White of Rumford, and Roy White of Peru; three sisters, Mrs. Evelyn Cornell and Mrs. Anna Collorone of Chelsea, Mass., and Mrs. Ruth Whal of San Antonio, Texas; and 15 grandchildren.
