PORTLAND – Hazel Z. Patnaude, 79, of Farmington, died early Tuesday morning, March 1, at Maine Medical Center in Portland.

She was born April 20, 1925, in Lunenburg, Vt., the daughter of Harry and Zola (Carbee) Pike. She was educated in Vermont schools and in 1952, married Joseph Frederick Patnaude in North Stratford, N.H. He died in 1986.

In 1979, she moved to Farmington, where she was employed at the Village Laundry and later at Orchard Park Nursing Home, retiring in 1998.

She loved cooking for her family, taking rides to view the beautiful Maine countryside and visiting with her family – especially her grandsons and great-grandsons.

She is survived by her son, Richard Raymond Patnaude and his wife, Patricia, of Farmington; two grandsons, the Rev. Jeffrey Patnaude and his wife, Mary Elizabeth Patnaude, of Harpswell and their children, Richard Raymond Patnaude II, Michael and Aaron; grandson, Douglass Patnaude of Bath; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by the following brothers and sisters, Everett, Roy, Alvin and Richard Pike, Edith Burgen, Priscilla Sargent, Patricia Lane and Vera Pike.
