LEWISTON – Rita Theresa Thibodeau, 72, a resident of Sarah Frye Home, died peacefully Monday, Feb. 28, at Central Maine Medical Center, with her loving family around her.

She was born in Lewiston on May 1, 1932, the daughter of Alcide and Imelda (Frechette) Gagnon.

She married Richard Thibodeau on Oct. 8, 1955. She attended Auburn schools and graduated from Edward Little High School in 1950. She was a member of St. Louis Church in Auburn. She worked as a teller in local banks, and worked as a bookkeeper for several years for the family business.

She loved to dance and listen to music. She will be sadly missed by her loving family as well as by the many close friends she made throughout her life. Her kind, caring and generous spirit will be remembered by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.

She is survived by a son, Paul of Lewiston; three daughters, Diane Williams and her husband, Larry, of Minot, Pat and her fiance, Ryan Saucier, of Poland, and Denise Blais and her husband, Gerry, of Monmouth; two brothers, Paul and his wife, Sally, and Roland and his wife, Alice; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Feb. 18, 2003, and her parents.
