AUBURN – “Coast to Coast in 100 Days” will be the topic of Don Robitaille’s talk at 7 p.m. Monday, March 7, at a meeting of the Stanton Bird Club at the High Street Congregational Church.

Robitaille, already a local biking legend, made the solo cross-country bicycle trip at age 70, from east to west against the tradewinds, without support of any kind. His 12-year-old bike has more than 75,000 miles on it and will be a feature at his talk along with photographs and maps.

Professor Tom Hayward will present the next program of the Stanton Bird Club on April 4. Hayward will provide an opportunity to learn how to identify birds by their sounds in time for the spring migration.

The bird club is a conservation organization offering monthly natural history free programs and field trips throughout the state. It welcomes new members whose dues help to provide land stewardship at three sanctuaries owned and managed by the club in Lewiston and Monmouth.
