BATH – The Youth Theater of the Chocolate Church Arts Center will perform Meredith Willson’s classic musical, “The Music Man,” for three weekends starting today.

“Music Man” is the story of charismatic con man Harold Hill.

The story takes place at a time when traveling salesmen were a main source of entertainment for towns like the sleepy Iowa town in the story. Harold comes to town intending to trick this town, as he has many others, into organizing a boy’s band.

But he finds himself falling for Marian, the town’s starchy librarian and piano teacher.

The performance schedule will be 7 p.m. today and Saturday, March 5; 2 p.m. Sunday, March 6; 7 p.m. Friday, March 11, and Saturday, March 12; 2 p.m. Sunday, March 13; 7 p.m. Friday, March 18; and 2 p.m. Saturday, March 19.

Tickets are $9 for members of the arts center, $10 for children and seniors, $12 in advance for general admission, and $15 at the door.

For tickets, people can call the arts center at 442-8455.
