JAY – Anthony “Tony” DeMillo, 56, a lifelong resident of Jay, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, March 5, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on Jan. 10, 1949, in Jay, the son of Americus and Theresa Filteau DeMillo. He was a 1967 graduate of Jay High School.

He served in the U.S. Army, 82nd Airborne Division from 1968 to 1971, earning the rank of sergeant.

On July 7, 1972, he married Bernadette Holland in Wilton.

He had worked at International Paper Co., Androscoggin Mill in Jay and later went to work at Wausau Paper Co. in Jay, formerly known as I.P. Co. Otis Mill, working on the paper machines.

He was a very talented stone mason, and loved nature, walking in the woods, hunting and fishing. His greatest loves were his wife, children and grandchildren, who were his pride and joy. He felt that his greatest accomplishments were raising his children, building his home and sharing the love and laughter with family and friends. All who had the privilege of knowing him were blessed and he will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Bernadette, of Jay; a son, Matthew DeMillo and his companion, Diana Lincoln, of Poland; a daughter, Megan DeMillo Berton and her husband, Thomas, of Walpole, Mass.; grandsons, James, Daniel and Logan Berton; two brothers and their wives, Mark and Yvonne DeMillo of Jay, and Nick and Nadine DeMillo of Jay; five sisters and their husbands, Marie and William Gile of Wayne, Anne and Rick Desjardins of Esko, Minn., Aurelie and Doug Merrill of Livermore, Judy and Harold Redman of Canton, and Carmel DeMillo of Industry; sisters and brothers-in-law, Kathleen and Thomas Knight of Farmington, Deborah and William Holland of Lewiston, Marjorie and Stephen Kosalski of Winthrop, and Joyce Hanson of Bradenton, Fla., and special and much loved nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, and in-laws, Alfred and Kathleen Holland.
