In reply to my last letter favoring gay marriage, Norm Boulay wrote that polygamists have rights, so why discriminate against them (Feb. 5)?

Polygamy is a religious term, used when one man could have several wives to increase the size of a family. The U.S. government put an end to polygamy a long time ago.

Boulay also mentioned why not allow fathers to marry their daughters. Well, does the word “incest” ring a bell?

Now, Rep. Brian Duprey is proposing a bill making it illegal for a woman to abort a fetus if technology is able to detect that the fetus is carrying a gene for homosexuality. Duprey has been on conservative radio programs and is against any rights for the homosexual community.

It is time to allow programs such as “Postcards from Buster” to be aired. We now have a multitude of gay-lesbian couples who are raising children. Those children are wanted and loved.
