WILTON – Brenda Landry of Wilton is a nationally accredited family child-care provider. She received her accreditation from the National Association for Family Child Care.
Landry has been licensed by the state as a family child-care provider for 25 years and has provided child care in her home business, Jack and Jill Child Care. For nearly two years, she did an intensive self-study process to meet the standards of the national association. Some of the upgrades included a new kitchen set for the children to use, physical improvements such as lighting and enhanced outdoor equipment. She also attended monthly meetings to learn more about encouraging social interactions between the children and setting the groundwork with young children so they will do well when they enter public school.
To become accredited, a provider does a self-evaluation, collects parent surveys, and has a certified observer do a rating. Landry also has a child development associate credential and provides Head Start services as a contracted provider for Community Concepts Inc.
