SEDONA, Ariz. – Oscar Nicholas Levesque, 86, died March 3 at Kachina Point Health Care Center in Sedona, Ariz.
He was born Oct. 25, 1918, in Lewiston, and was one of six children. In 1941, he married Leola “Lee” Violette and they were married for 59 years. He lost “Lee” in January of 2001.
He served in the U.S. Army and fought in World War II. Upon his return, he became an electrician, and commuted for many years between Maine and New York City.
He loved baseball, and played professionally as a young man. He was a connoisseur of sports and could recite facts from several years ago. In 1962, he moved his family to New York City, and in 1979 he moved to Flagstaff, Ariz.
He is survived by one brother, Denis Levesque of Auburn; his four daughters, Danielle Levesque Hird (Ted) of Encinitas, Calif., Peggy Levesque McNamara (Kevin) of Palm Harbor, Fla., Janice Levesque Johnson (Chris) of Flagstaff, Ariz., and Donna Levesque Zimmerman (Steve) of Flagstaff, Ariz.; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
