SKOWHEGAN – Ernest A. “Ernie” Therrien, 66, of Skowhegan, left us Wednesday, March 2, to be with the Lord in Heaven.
He was born in Skowhegan, on April 18, 1938, son of Alfred J. and Beatrice M. (Duplessie) Therrien. He married Alfreda Violette, June 27, 1959, in Skowhegan.
He served a six-year term in the Army Reserve. He was a shoe factory worker for a large part of his life, retiring in 2003. He enjoyed doing yard work, fishing, hunting, and playing the electric organ, harmonica and accordion.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Alfreda Therrien; his daughter, Mrs. Brenda Barney, and her husband, Jeff, of Skowhegan; daughter, Angela Meacham of Canaan; son, Scott Madore and his wife, Shannon, of Norridgewock; grandchildren, Jessica Barney of Cornville, Regina Barney of Skowhegan, Colby Madore of Norridgewock and Nicole Meacham of Canaan; five sisters, Blanch Clark, Gloria Hughes, Barbara Smith, Lucille Clements and Clara Therrien; and two brothers, Richard Therrien and Raymond Therrien.
He was predeceased by a brother, Walter Therrien.
