LIVERMORE FALLS – Alta V. Ward, 91, of Livermore Falls, formerly of Connecticut, died Wednesday, Mar. 9, surrounded by her family.

She was born June 23, 1913, in Harrington, a daughter of Frederick and Belinda (Young) Randall.

As a young woman she worked at the shipyard in Portland, and later moved to Connecticut in 1949 where she held various jobs. She returned to Maine in 1999. She loved to play bingo, fishing and crocheting.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary Louise Smith of Livermore Falls; a grandson, Lee Smith of Connecticut; three great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Frank Ward; two brothers, Walter and Embert Randall; and a sister, Francis Randall.
