The Democrats have used Social Security as their mantra for votes for the last 50 years. Now a hotshot Republican president has dared to step in and try to save the future of this soon-to-be-defunct program. We can no longer ignore the fact that the Social Security program is soon to be bankrupt.
Did you know that senators’ and representatives’ retirement accounts are invested in the stock market? So the hue and cry they raise is suspect. That might be why they have such good retirements compared to the rest of us who have to subsist on Social Security.
Our elected officials will never have to rely on Social Security on a personal level. If they were faced with Social Security as their only retirement, it would be fixed.
