LEWISTON – Marilyn I. Hamm, 77, of Lisbon St. Lisbon, died Thursday March 10, at Central Maine Medical Center after a battle with cancer and Alzheimer’s.

She was born in Milford Mass., on Sept. 19, 1927, the daughter of Howard and Edith (Smith) Hall. She was educated in Upton Mass., schools but finished her education through the Lisbon Adult Ed receiving her diploma.

On May 11, 1957, she married Robert J. Hamm Sr., who died May 10, 1987. She was a CNA for many years at Marshwood Healthcare Facility and was a member of the South Lewiston Baptist Church. As a teenager she enjoyed being a member of the 4-H club. She loved to paint and draw as a past time. She was an avid bowler playing on Monday and Wednesday, loved meeting with her dear friends over a coffee, sharing stories and visiting her neighbors.

She leaves five sons, Walter F. Caniff and wife, Carol, of New Hampshire, Robert D. Caniff and wife, Vicky, of Bowdoin, Robert J. Hamm Jr., of Massachusetts, William J. Hamm and wife, Brenda, of Lisbon Falls, and Howard “Fred” Hamm and wife, Anna, of Sabattus; five daughters, Jean Thomas and husband, Ron, of Maryland, Darlene Emery and husband Norman of North Carolina, Diane Robishaw and husband, Raymond, of Lisbon Falls, Donna Hamm of Massachusetts, and Dawn Dubois and husband, John, of Brownfield; two brothers, Howard Hill of Massachusetts and William Holbrook of Michigan; a sister, Natalie Reed and her husband, William, of Massachusetts; 34 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband; a daughter, Deborah L. Hutchins; and two grandsons, Nathan Hutchins and Walter Clemens.
