CHESTERVILLE – Marjorie Evelyn Campbell, 83, of longtime resident of Wilton, died Wednesday morning, March 9, at her daughter’s home in Chesterville, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Oct. 21, 1921, in New Sharon, a daughter of the late Leon A. and Martha R. (Redlevske) Daggett. She was a graduate of New Sharon High School, Class of 1940. In October of 1941, she married Ernest W. Campbell Sr., in Farmington.
She had been a member of the grange for more than 30 years and active in the state grange. She was a member of the East Wilton Extension and the Senior Citizens in Wilton. She enjoyed doing many crafts, especially knitting and crocheting. She also enjoyed arranging flowers and growing herbs.
She is survived by a daughter, Judy L. Paul and her husband, Fay Morley, of Chesterville; and three granddaughters, Tammi Chandler of Waldoboro, Kelly C. Hogue and her husband, Terry, of San Francisco, and Sarah Brown and her husband, William, of Wilton.
In addition to her husband of more than 21 years who died in 1962, she is preceded in death by two sons, Ernest W. Campbell Jr., who died in 1995, and Ronald D. Campbell who died in 2003; and a son-in-law, John “Jack” Paul who died in 1995.
