LEWISTON – A surprise 50th wedding anniversary celebration was held on Oct. 2 to honor Lucien and Connie Pelletier of Lewiston.

The event was planned by their sons, Mike and Dan and their spouses, Patty and Lizz. Dinner and dancing was held at the Webber Avenue Club, where the original wedding reception was held. Renewal of vows was performed by the Rev. Daniel Greenleaf and the couple received many gifts.

Friends and family came from Canada, Connecticut, and the original maid of honor, Louise Bova, came from Georgia. Also attending were the flower girls, Phyllis St. Laurent and Linda Wiers.

The couple was married on Oct. 2, 1954, at St. Mary’s Church. They have been members of Holy Cross Parish since 1961.

Besides their sons, Michael and Daniel, they have three grandchildren, Danielle, Matthew and Blaine, and a great-granddaughter, Emma.
