Lisbon: Schools get $40,000 grant

Barbara Thompson recently submitted and was awarded a 4-H technology grant for $40,000 that will be given in software and training at Lisbon Community Schools.

Software and reference materials are funded by the Environmental Systems and Research Institute, which specializes in land use analysis projects, Thompson said.

Students, who will be working closely with 4-H staff, will be able to link geographic information and descriptive information to create a vast array of mapping possibilities.

The school will have two years to meet the requirements of the grant and if they are met, the Lisbon Community School will be able to keep all of the materials.
