LEWISTON – Clotilde A. Rioux, 81, of 172 Golder Road, Lewiston, died Saturday, March 12, at her residence, following a long illness.

She was born in Lewiston, on June 24, 1923, the daughter of David and Alice (Bilodeau) Beaule and had been a resident of Lewiston all of her life. She was educated in local schools.

She was a member of Holy Family Parish. Her faith and family were the focus of her life. In her later years, teaching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren motivated her to create an extensive homeschooling library. All her life, Clotilde had a great appreciation for classical music, which she shared with her family.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Benoit J. Rioux, whom she married on June 1, 1946, of Lewiston; two daughters, Pauline Burnham and her husband, Richard, of Lewiston, and Therese Susanka and her husband, Thomas, of Oak View, Calif.; four sons, Dr. David Rioux of Oak View, Calif., Michel Rioux and his wife, Therese, of Lewiston, Pierre Rioux of Ojai, Calif., and Dr. Jean Rioux and his wife, Maria, of Cummings, Kan.; one sister, Jeannette Chandonnet and her husband, Richard, of Lewiston; four brothers, Roger Beaule and his wife, Rolande, Bertrand Beaule, Leo Beaule and his wife, Connie, and Gerard Beaule and his wife, Gilberte, all of Lewiston; 26 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by five sisters and two brothers.
