HEBRON – The Hebron Community Baptist Church, located on the northeast corner of the Hebron Academy campus, will observe Holy Week, the culmination of the Lenten season, from March 19 to 27 with several services, Pastor Meredith Dalessandro has announced.

The church will celebrate Palm Sunday with worship at 10 a.m. Sunday, March 20. Children will perform an Easter play, “Angels Unaware,” during the service. The Chancel Choir will sing “Hosanna” by Nisbet. Palm branches will be distributed, commemorating Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem.

There will be a Maundy Thursday service at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 24, in the sanctuary with music by the Chancel Choir, to remember Christ’s Last Supper with his disciples.

On Easter Sunday, March 27, there will be a sunrise service at the Conrad Conant residence on Greenwood Mountain at 6 a.m., with a coffee hour following. Worship will also take place at the church at 10 a.m. led by Dalessandro, followed by a fellowship hour.

In addition to the Chancel Choir, the morning’s music will feature Nancy Valliere, soprano, and Edward Gabrielson, tenor, both of Norway, who will perform a duet by Mendelssohn, “They Have Taken Away My Lord.”

The public is invited to any and all of the events, and child care will be provided for all services. For more information, call 966-2694 or 897-3373.
