BRIDGTON – Malcolm (Mac) J. Bean, 70, of Waterford, died Monday, March 14, at the Bridgton Hospital, in Bridgton after a brief illness.
He was born in Lewiston, on June 3, 1934, the son of Edward and Irene King Bean. He graduated from Bridgton Academy in 1952. He later served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1954 to 1957.
Mac served as vice president of Indian Head National Bank until his retirement in 1985. He was a member of the Waterford Congregational Church, and Waterford and Harrison historical societies.
Mac enjoyed helping local people, as well as in the surrounding areas, as a handyman. He enjoyed meeting with his friends at Springer’s Store in Waterford on a regular basis.
He is survived by his sister, Joan Fillebrown of 6 Rice Road, Waterford; two nieces, Karen Fillebrown of Waterford, and Susan Hunt and husband, Tony, of North Norway; a nephew, Paul Fillebrown and his wife, Marlene, of Waterford; two great nieces, Brittany Hunt of North Norway, and Shannon Fillebrown; and a great nephew, Garrett Fillebrown, both of Waterford.
