FARMINGTON – A $10,000 grant has been awarded to study the efficiency of delivering local and regional fire safety services.
Farmington Town Manager Richard Davis wrote the grant to conduct a study of fire departments in Farmington, Wilton, Jay, Livermore Falls and Livermore.
Farmington Fire and Rescue Chief Terry Bell said Davis received word Tuesday that the grant from the Maine Development Foundation was approved.
Bell said the study would cover all aspects related to the departments, including equipment, operations, repair work and purchases.
The person hired to do the study would give recommendations on how things could operate more cost efficiently, Bell said.
