BOSTON (AP) – Northeastern will not renew the contract of hockey coach Bruce Crowder, athletic director Dave O’Brien announced.
The school will begin searching for a successor immediately.
Crowder, a former Boston Bruin and Pittsburgh Penguin, went 15-18-5 with the Huskies this season to bring his nine-year record to 120-170-36. He is a three-time Hockey East coach of the year, twice at UMass-Lowell and once at Northeastern.
In 1996, with UMass-Lowell, he was the national coach of the year.
Crowder played with the Maine Mariners and served as an assistant hockey coach at Maine for two seasons.
