RANGELEY – As a precursor to applying for permits for a spring water pumping station in Dallas Plantation, representatives from Poland Spring will meet with residents of Rangeley and Dallas Plantation on April 7. The meeting, originally scheduled for today, was postponed to allow for proper public notification.

According to Mark Dubois, natural resources manager for Nestle Waters North America, Poland Spring’s parent company, the meeting is designed to get public comment before an application is submitted to the Land Use Regulation Commission, which, he said, “would prefer we do it this way.”

Among those expected to attend the meeting are representatives of Poland Spring and the Land Use Regulation Commission, and Rangeley and Dallas Plantation town officials.

The aquifer in Dallas Plantation is “looking viable” for a pumping station, Dubois said Tuesday. He was disappointed the meeting needed to be postponed, pushing the project back several weeks. The meeting will take place at 6:30 p.m. April 7 at the Rangeley Inn.
